The catalogue of the nexf Fine Wine and Spirit auction presented by Aste Bolaffi in collaboration with Slow Food Editore on November 21st in Sala Bolaffi in Turin will include more than 970 lots: it's the richest auction ever organized by the department with a monumental selection of the most prestigious Burgundy wines, Tuscan and Piedmontese cult bottles and spirits, all from selected private wine cellars.
The top lot of the sale is the "King of Chardonnays", a Montrachet Grand Cru with a vertical of eight rare bottles dated 2001 to 2015, perfectly preserved, to be presented at auction at an initial base offering of 50,000 euros.
The sale opens with distillates and fortified wines of the highest level, selected in conjunction with the Whiskey Club Italia, for a total of 114 lots, with a wide variety of countries, types, distilleries and rare bottles of Scotch Whiskey, such as the Bowmore Bouquet Single Malt Samaroli of 1966, bottled in 1984 in only 720 units (lot 32, auction base 28,000 euros), the Laphroaig Sherry Wood Islay Malt 15 Years Old 1967-1982 Samaroli (lot 54, base 28,000 euros), and lots presenting Glen Garioch, Macallan and Springbank, including a selection of Ageing Monography Samaroli. The stand outs among the French distillates include seven bottles of cognac from the Erté Collection (lot 12, base 3,000 euros) and the Perle Noir Louis XIII, where the prestige of cognac meets Baccarat crystal (lot 13, base 10,000 euros).
After the spirits, a tasting is scheduled - by appointment - at Chianti Classico Riserva "Il Poggio" Castello di Monsanto in four vintages (2013, 2001, 1982, 1964); after the tasting, the wine auction will begin, starting with Tuscany with some bottles from the producer's winery. Among the top lots from this region, various vintages of Brunello di Montalcino Case Basse Gianfranco Soldera, including 1997 which is classified as historic (lot 194, 2 bottles, base 700 euros), two magnums of Masseto 2004 Bolgheri (lot 235, base 1,800 euros), several bottles of Sassicaia, including a magnum from the amazing 1985 vintage (lot 273, base 1,800 euros), three verticals and a bottle from 1964, a vintage produced exclusively for Tenuta San Guido and off market (lot 269, base 500 euros), plus  numerous lots of Ornellaia, Tignanello, Solaia and Pergole Torte.
Passing to the region of Piedmont, let us point out six very rare bottles of Barolo 2011 Accomasso (lot 500, base 600 euros), a good selection of Giacosa, Gaja and Conterno, including a magnum of Barolo Monfortino Riserva 2010 (lot 559, base 1,800 euros) and a bottle of Barolo Giuseppe Rinaldi from the rare 1964 vintage (lot 652, base 350 euros). The presence of five bottles of the increasingly requested Barbaresco Crichet Pajé Roagna of 1999, its most representative label (lot 665, base 1,300 euros) should also be underlined.
The catalogue closes with France, with Burgundy and its Domaines as its most prestigious protagonists: this is where the auction top lots are found, starting from the extraordinary vertical of Montrachet Grand Cru of the Domaine de la Romanée Conti, top lot of the entire auction (lot 923, 8 bottles from 2001 to 2015, base 50,000 euros), various La Tache, the Grand Cru selection from the important 2009 vintage (lot 941, 13 bottles, base 40,000 euros), and a bottle of Romanée-Conti Grand Cru of the excellent year 2001 (lot 932, base 8,000 euros), in addition to numerous lots of Domaine D'Auvenay, Leroy, Comte Georges de Vogüé and Armand Rousseau, the latter present with a good selection of Chambertin and Gevrey-Chambertin of various vintages and types. Finally, the two true pearls in the catalogue: a 2008 Musigny and a 2011 Roumier (respectively lots 1092 and 1093, bases 3,500 and 4,100 euros), the latter also present with many other extraordinary bottles. Among other treats, we also point out four lots from the cult Arnaud Ente small Domaine.
Finally, there are the wines from the most famous of the Bordeaux Châteaux - such as a selection of all the Premier Grand Cru Classés of 1989 (lot 877, 11 bottles, base 4,500 euros), a 2004 Collection Duclot case (lot 878, 9 bottles, base 4,500 euro) and a 1927 bottle of Château d'Yquem (lot 826, base 1,600 euros) - and the champagnes, from a six litre bottle of 2002 Cristal in its original wooden case (lot 777, base 3,000 euros) to several bottles of Krug Clos du Mesnil Blanc de Blancs from the years 1982 to 1995, and of the very requested Salon from the years 1997 to 2007.
As regards other regions, we would like to highlight a 1961 bottle of Hermitage La Chapelle Paul Jaboulet Ainé which was awarded the highest score by international critics (lot 752, base 3,500 euros), and a selection of Côte Rôtie La Landonne 1990, Domaine E. Guigal's most prestigious offering (lot 760, base 3,000 euros.
